During this 4 months residency at the Ron Andrews Community Centre in North Vancouver, we focused on felting fungi that were be found in the forested woods of Windridge Park, next to the community centre, to create a series of felted books inspired by local fungi species, and using simple wet felting and needle felting methods. Each book was collectively felted by over 50 community members of all ages in collaboration with artists Isabelle Kirouac and Willoughby Arévalo. To imbue this project with experiential learning and interdisciplinary arts inspired by fungi, we will also offered mushroom walks, a movement practice and sensorial activities inspired by fungi.

From February to August 2025, the felted books will be exhibited in the Ron Andrews community center lobby for the public to consult and enjoy. This Project has been supported by North Vancouver Culture & Recreation Artist Residency program.
