By Willoughby Arévalo & Isabelle Kirouac
in collaboration with francophone students of Ecole Anne-Hébert
During this project, student were introduced to needle felting and created diverse local elements of the Pacific Ocean seabed out of wool. Students grades K-3 created the background, which included water and rocks, while students grades 4-6 created marine animals or plants (algae, anemones, starfish, crabs…). Each element became part of a larger composition. Together, students and artists created a collective mural, illustrating the seabed of our regions. The mural is displayed in the school.
